Heading into its intense, spellbinding second season, hit psychological thriller THE FOLLOWING will catch up with RYAN HARDY (Golden Globe Award winner and Emmy Award nominee Kevin Bacon) in the wake of a horrific new murder spree. According to TV Line Connie Nielsen will be joining the cast of The Following for it’s second season. Nielsen will play Lily Gray, a Soho art dealer who finds herself in a bit of trouble. When Ryan Hardy (Kevin Bacon) comes to her aid, a connection begins to form which causes even more problems for her.
Sam Underwood is staying in the serial killer business, joining Fox’s The Following as a series regular in Season 2 Underwood, who is currently appearing in Dexter‘s final season as a protégé of Michael C. Hall’s titular vigilante, will play Luke, a very complicated and dangerous young man who may or may not be a follower of the “late” Joe Carroll.
According to eonline Valerie Cruz is set to join the hunt for a serial killer terrorizing New York City when The Following returns for its second season. Cruz, who most recently appeared on Showtime’s hit series Homeland, will take on the role of NYPD detective Gina Mendez, who will work closely with Mike Weston (Shawn Ashmore) and the FBI when a new murder spree hits the city. Described as “hard as nails,” Detective Mendez will first appear in the Fox serial killer thriller’s season two premiere, which picks up a year after the events of the finale.

According to TV Guide James McDaniel has joined the cast of The following in a recurring role for Season 2.
McDaniel will play FBI Agent Ken Phillips, who heads the task force in New York City on the Fox drama. It’s likely that his character will team up with Ryan Hardy (Kevin Bacon) as a replacement for Agent Deb Parker (Annie Parisse), who was killed in the Season 1 finale.
